“Getting to know the Colombian and Venezuelan women on community kitchen days impacted me immensely. I am from a Colombian - Venezuelan household, so being in a space in which these two cultures collaborate together was a significant moment for me. These hard working women showed me a personal side to many Venezuelan refugees fleeing humanitarian and political crises, and consolidated a Colombian heritage I am proud to hold. So it is an important experience for me not just in volunteering, but in my time in Medellín.”
