My name is Maria Camila, I am 17 years old and I am Colombian. For me, it is important to have a passion because it is what moves life. Even despite all of the adversities, it encourages you to never give up. We also don’t just have to have one passion, there are many things to be inspired by in life and that is what gives it so much magic.
In my day to day life it is my passion, especially for music helps me to be strong and never give up. For me, music is my passion and with music I want to do to others what it does to me; remind others that they are not alone, help during difficult as well as happy moments, not only with melodies but with words that enter your soul, and support a world with more inclusion and respect for everyone and everything. Singers that I admire like Adele, Demi Lovato, Christina Aguielera and 5h, all have in common that they are women, but it is their strength to leave an impactful message in all of their songs.
It is because of this that inspires me each day to believe that one day I can have the power to make the world a more humane place. At the beginning, it wasn’t easy for me and no one expected that I would choose the path of music because I was always a very shy person with many fears and insecurities. It has been because of music that I have been able to overcome these insecurities through singing in front of people at competitions, when before I couldn’t even stand in front of the class and give a presentation in front of my class at school. Because of this, I want to leave the message that as women we are brave, strong, intelligent and our susceptibility that makes us more conscientious and dedicated to change the world and turn it into a place a little more humane.
