Embracing Change Series

How to use the skills you have honed working in corporate fields to make a meaningful change as a volunteer in the nonprofit world.

Each year, millions of people in their 40s, 50s and 60s come to the realization that their careers are no longer fulfilling them the way they once did. Some may be empty nesters or retired, with extra time on their hands and passions they want to pursue but don’t know where to start. As part of a new Embracing Change series, we will be sharing advice about where to start with embracing change later on in your career. With a wealth of corporate and life experience under your belt, you already have a whole host of talents and expertise that can feed a passion while also volunteering to help others around you.

Here at Proyecto Florecer we are looking for volunteers just like you! This includes corporate-level volunteers who have the skills and capabilities we need and who are looking for ways to give back in low-commitment roles. We are forming back-office board committees in several fields, including tech, finance, business administration, talent management and education, and are searching for people with corporate experience in these areas who want to support a non-profit’s growth with minimal time and commitment requirements. Remember, the smallest change can make the biggest difference, all while volunteering from the comfort of your own home.

We will be covering a range of topics from microshifts, changes you can make in your life as an individual, and what you could do as a corporation to give back. No matter who you are, what your background is in or what type of volunteer role you are looking for, we have something for you. Stay tuned in for our new series and start your journey with us now!
